The BDI@1,561; Wets struggle, Geopolitics and COVID freak waves a reality
The falling mode of the BDI (Baltic Dry Index) so far this week, raises many questions. Geopolitics worse than Ariadnes’ Thread – the string which helped her Athenian lover Theseus escape the Labyrinth in Crete after he slew the Minotaur, a beast half bull and half man. Wonder how we can escape the falling Markets and save our fellow citizens on Planet Ocean from the Coronavirus Anathema. John Faraclas’ brief recap:
The BDI lost 76 points earlier on today and now stands at 1,561 points – loosing, as hinted yesterday the 1,600 points threshold…
The Capes’ BCI lost 189 points as well as the 2,800 and 2,700 points threshold and now reads 2,621. C A U T I O N!
Considerable losses for the Panamaxes with the BPI down 48 points at 1,365, losing also the 1,400 points threshold!
Minor losses for the Supras with the BSI down to 977 – minus eight points…
No change for the Handies, still trying the …leap beyond the 600 points; no change and let’s hope the 599 points recorded today changes to over and above this important 600 points mark…
Wets in low levels; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 412 – plus two and 350 – no change respectively.
The WTI lost 18 cents and as these lines are written stands at US$ 40.91 – a good sign!
Geopolitics and Coronavirus worsen and we believe that difficult days lay ahead for humanity. We will revert tomorrow with an extended daily and weekly recap. Until then have a nice evening ensuring you continue to remain on guard from actions emanating from Pirates, Terrorists, Criminals and any Business Hooligans whatsoever wherever you are on Planet Ocean. Once again a big THANK YOU to all who really care for all humans – Doctors, Nurses, Seafarers, Dockers, Port Authorities et al during this Coronavirus disaster!! We repeat: Do please invest in Hospitals including Equipment, Doctors, Nurses and any useful means to avoid further disasters! Become more disciplined and care for the Environment too. Lastly: Education and Training for all to be able to tackle these disasters. Let’s work collectively together and NOT opt for a fistful of Dollars to restart the already collapsed global economy… which is in red US$ 270 (twohundredandseventy) trillion…-
