Market volatility as Capes’ minimal surge might bring seasonal hope; Geopolitics and Coronavirus far worse than yesterday.
The BDI’s (Baltic Dry Index) minor losses since yesterday points to a possible upturn… but… The geopolitical issues are getting worse with Coronavirus making waves. John Faraclas midweek brief recap:
Just four points were the losses of the BDI now at 1,346, thanks to the Capes’ BCI four plus points since yesterday and now reading 2,068… Very premature to make any assumptions; we shall wait and see…
The Panamaxes’ BPI was down 16 and now stands at 1,257 points.
Minus one point for both the Supras and Handies now seeing the BSI and BHSI at 972 and 596 points respectively…
Mixed feelings for the low-leveled Wets; the last BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 424 – up one, and 339 – minus five points respectively.
The WTI, as these line are written, reads US$ 40.93, the same as per yesterday’s and Monday’s closing… CAUTION though…
In the Geopolitical front, we are doing worse:
MIGRANTS still on top with YET another disaster off the coast of Libya near Sabratha were 15 perished. Five only survivors rescued by local fishermen. Since January this year 10,000 (ten thousand) would be MIGRANTS trying to cross over to Europe were intercepted by the Libyan Coast Guard and returned back! Silence in the Aegean with minor movements but do not count your eggs before they are thatched…
Turkey is about to rock Peace not just in the Aegean, Black Sea, the Balkans, South Caucuses (Armenia-Azerbaijan) Central and East Med, but beyond. There is nothing from the EU or NATO to stop NOW the imperial megalomania of the Turks and their backers for their own reasons and money interests, but Nemesis is watching… History ALWAYS repeats itself: just over 2,500 years ago, the Greeks ousted completed the Persians from the Aegean and East Med basin, changing the course of history and way of life on Planet Ocean… Turkey’s latest actions, even this moment with the issuance of despicable and illegal NAVTEXs and the apathy of the superpowers, will lead us in a dead bloody end… they (Turks) also demanded the demilitarisation of the Island of Psara off the northwest coast of Chios Island – Greece’s fifth largest…A bloodbath is coming… In the meantime, whoever betrays Greece, from within, its allies,and others, will one day face the music. I guess some people MUST go back to the drawing board and learn on jurisdictions vis-à-vis maritime accidents; thereafter they will realise their ignorance on how they take the situation. Marking an EEZ is a task and duty between two nations, even if they have differences – as it always happen, but same should be under the presence of the UN – IMO in this instance as well as without threats and the presence of using military force. Winners talk, losers do not! Watch this space! Hellenism is under duress and this will back clash and become a boomerang to those bullying Greece and Cyprus in this instance. The Bautas and Morettas MUST fall!
The EU continues to be in a total mess..
BREXIT advances will soon cause tsunamis for all..
Hard times in the USA as we watch the enfolding last days before an “monumental” presidential election… We all await the new books on this election. As said, with Tramp or Biden nothing will really change. American interests are always on top and never change – you might think, but alas: they don’t. Same applies for the EU ones headed by Germany…

Africa remains as per yesterday…
Watch out the Far East. The USA approved US$ 1,8 billion for Cruise Missiles and other armaments for Taiwan as China flexes its muscles in the South China Sea and beyond…
On the Coronavirus anathema: Quite simply, be on guard and be prepared to face the despicable surge which will affect us all. The situation is far beyond your knowledge, wishful thinking and imagination. Remain Disciplined and Responsible.
