Dynamic Positioning and GNSS vulnerabilities

You are warmly invited to join this Nautical Institute webinar

13:00 GMT on Thursday, 3 December 2020

While Dynamic Positioning (DP) has become more commonly available, these ships and all other vessels rely to some extent on Global Satellite Positioning Systems (GNSS) to help them maintain position.DP provides precision positioning, but reliance on satellite technology does make vessels vulnerable to jamming and spoofing.  Join The Nautical Institute and Captain Charles Stuart AFNI, Tidewater Global DP Advisor, as he explores the basics of DP operations and explains how other vessels can benefit from the lessons learned to protect themselves against GNSS jamming and spoofing.
Captain Charles Stuart spent 28 years at sea, some 17 of which were on DP vessels. His experience in DP ranges from supply and constructor master through to incident investigation, audits and trials.
This free webinar will be fully interactive, inviting questions from attendees and will provide a certificate of participation to all those who attend.
