Dry highs, Wets remain low; Geopolitics and Covid should dangerously bother us
The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) approaches the 3,000 points threshold; a level to feel jubilant. Not so rosy though feelings for the Wets. Geopolitics coupled with Recession and Covid not only will bother us, their effect will be more than distructive. John Faraclas midweek recap:
The BDI gained 68 points and now stands at 2,957; jus a step from the 3,000 points threshold
The Capes’ BCI – the driving force this last month of the Dry index, surpassed the 4,600 points following the addition of 164 points and now stands at 4,680!
The Panamaxes BPI was up 34 points and now reads 2,584…
Supras BSI was up 11 points at 2,140 enjoying good times…
Four points plus but plus for the Handies BHSI now at 1,117!
A buoyant Dry Market and hopefully tomorrow we might celebrate a “milestone”, the 3,000 points threshold!
Still low levels for the Wets; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 604 – plus one and 468 – minus three points respectively. Ultra CAUTION should be observed.
The WTI’s rise of 92 cents brings bad news for the 7.7 billion on Planet Ocean; at US$ 63.86 looks likely to accelerate further; Again, as in the Wets above: Ultra Caution should be observed.
On the Geopolitical front,
The interesting news stems from the USA: Joe Biden’s 100 days are a success and what is needed now is for the Republicans to avoid dirty party politics and work closely in both Houses with the Democrats to ensure all is well at home and that the US runs and dominates the affairs on Planet Ocean, given the extremely despicable times we live in today! A rotten Economy – indeed it’s the Economy stupid; a Warring environment all over with an uncertain outcome given the Chinese and Russian attacks – War Father of all, if you don’t destroy you cannot rebuilt, but… ; an unhealthy and uncertain situation for all given the Coronavirus Anathema and the media war with Pharmaceutical entities – S H A M E!
In Europe and the faulty line from Gib to Afghanistan and from the Caucuses to the Horn of Africa things get worse. The five parties talk on the future – just solution on the divided and occupied north part of Cyprus ended once again in a deadlock due to Turkey and the morphoma “state, recognised ONLY by Turkey, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It’s a cystic morphoma after all, and just wait and see when the cyst bursts…, Turkish narrowmindness will become catastrophic soon. Watch this space…

In the European Parliament the post BREXIT European Union – United Kingdom Trade Deal was ratified, ensuring that Tariffs and Quotas Free Trade continues; well done! 660 votes in favor, five against and 32 abstained… Oh la la!

Things are getting sour in many countries with India and Turkey at the forefront. India needs tough Law and Order as well ultra support from all nations. The US is asking its citizens to immy leave… Unfortunately we witness the real pandemic there – according to social media and official news agencies… Turkey with a new month long lockdown has to make or lose even a handful of tourists. Discipline for all and Responsibility from the politicians.
The Christian Orthodox World is in its Holy Easter Week and we advise CAUTION to all 380-400 million Orthodox during these days…

Let us work collectively together and NOT opt for a fistful of Dollars to restart the already collapsed global economy… which is in red over US$ 300 (three hundred) trillion…
