Notice of wrecks

Pursuant to section 155 of the Merchant Shipping Act (Chapter 179), I, Kevin Wong Kar Weng, Receiver of Wreck for the Republic of Singapore, hereby give notice that I have taken possession of two wrecks and their contents comprising broken pieces of metal and ceramics which lie or previously lay in Singapore Territorial Waters within the areas bounded by the following coordinates:

Wreck 1:
Latitude 1 deg. 19.90’ N, Longitude 104 deg. 24.27’ E;
Latitude 1 deg. 19.90’ N, Longitude 104 deg. 24.33’ E;
Latitude 1 deg. 19.82’ N, Longitude 104 deg. 24.33’ E; and
Latitude 1 deg. 19.82’ N, Longitude 104 deg. 24.27’ E;

Wreck 2:
Latitude 1 deg. 19.87’ N, Longitude 104 deg. 24.50’ E;
Latitude 1 deg. 19.87’ N, Longitude 104 deg. 24.58’ E;
Latitude 1 deg. 19.78’ N, Longitude 104 deg. 24.58’ E; and
Latitude 1 deg. 19.78’ N, Longitude 104 deg. 24.50’ E.

Any person who wishes to pursue a claim to the said wrecks or their contents must submit a written notice, setting out the particulars, and basis of the claim, addressed to the Receiver of Wreck, within one (1) month from the date of this Notice. The written notice must be submitted to the following address, and may also be submitted by electronic mail to the following e-mail addresses:

Offshore attendance of vessels coming from India
Tuesday, May 11, 2021, Khorfakkan, United Arab Emirates

Khorfakkan port has advised that no offshore attendance is permitted for vessels whose last port of call was in India, unless the vessel has completed 14 days’ quarantine.

This also applies for vessels that have come from India, transiting through some other foreign port (not in the UAE). Offshore attendance will still not be permitted and the ship will need to complete 14 days’ quarantine.

Ramadan Holiday
Tuesday, May 11, 2021, Turkey

All Turkish official institutions and banks will be closed from 12.00 hours local time tomorrow (12 May) until Monday 17 May, due to the Ramadan Holiday.

Any arrangements for spares, provisions, etc during this period should be made in good time in advance.

Some ports may suspend their operations between these dates or increase fees by 50% for official services such as pilotage, towage, mooring and customs. Therefore, please check prior to calling at any Turkish Port.

A 50% pilotage surcharge will apply for the Turkish Straits during this period.

Total lockdown announced

Eid-el-Fitr holiday
Tuesday, May 11, 2021, Nigeria

The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 May public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

Normal work will resume on Friday 14 May.
