Enigmatic Dry and Wet Markets; messy Geopolitics whilst Covid’s uncertainty rules the day
The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) lost 28 points since last Friday the 28th of May 2021 and now stands at 2,568. Given the despicable Geopolitical situation and the Coronavirus Anathema, one needs …a great maestro to conduct Planet Ocean’s orchestra. John Faraclas’ daily brief recap:
The Capes’ BCI was down 71 points and now approaches the 3,000 points threshold, standing now at 3,018 points… CAUTION.
Good news from the Panamaxes’ BPI, surpassing the 2,800 points threshold and reading 2,801 – up 41 points!!!
A fall for the Supras’ BSI now at 2,455 – minus 49, losing the 2,500 points threshold.
Minor losses for the Handies’ BHSI now at 1,339 – minus four…
All in all the Dry fall continues; enigmatic eh!
The Wets still low with ups and downs; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 598 – minus six, losing the 600 points threshold, and 516 – plus seven points respectively… still low enigmatically like the Dries… We do stress the word enigmatic as this is the only word that matches the current situation whilst we entered the summer season…
The WTI reached the US$ 68 level, up almost US$ 1 from yesterday’s US$ 66.90… CAUTION.

Migrants still the number one issue… Migrants poor into the EU from all sides now… You can now all of you understand why we insist nearly a decade so we see in place a Naval Blockade with a Mandate and Rules of Engagement for the entire North Africa Coast – including Morocco, the East Med, Aegean and Black Seas!
Events in the faulty line between Gib to Afghanistan and from the Caucuses to the Horn of Africa got worse…
Watch out Turkey’s dubious diplomacy particularly with Cyprus and Greece –wonder what’s next following high level meetings in Athens and in Brussels (NATO)… A bankrupt Turkey will cause unnecessary mess beyond the Central / East Med / Balkans / South Caucuses and Middle East region… Its foreign minister’s provocative presence in Greece’s western Thrace speaks alone… Inferiority complex… Time for Athens and its allies to respond appropriately…
Watch out events in Israel… Political instability with the possibility for a government change… and in general, the long standing unending situation with the Palestinians… will bother all…
The EU must go back to the drawing board… Reinventing the EU is a must… Narrow minded politicians and bureaucrats: beware, your time has come… Watch out for Italy…
Looks likely that BREXIT was the best option for the United Kingdom… Watch out the Northern Ireland issue with EU and Brexit…
America flexing its muscles as a response to China’s equal attitude/behavior… given its stance in the South China Sea and Pacific basin – Taiwan etc…

On the Coronavirus’ Anathema spreading we hope that all nations should push for a 25 centum – minimum vaccination of all their citizens… That leaves us to see that the earliest all 7.7 billion on Planet Ocean are vaccinated by 2024 early 2025… Add new mutations, expect the four / five known and see what you get… Wake up and push vaccinations, vaccinations for ALL!! Like love is in the air, the virus is in the air too! Be prepared for difficult days ahead.

On the Environment now and in the Arctic; tribes there welcomed US president Joe Biden’s decision to suspend oil and gas leases up in Alaska where the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge exists waiting an environmental review! These licences were granted by his predecessor!
