London International Shipping Week 2021 | Registration Now Open!

LISW21 is Open for Business

London is Open for Business and LISW21 will be the first opportunity the global shipping industry will have in over 20 months to meet in person.

All because of the decision by the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson to ease all COVID-19 restrictions. And our Supporting Organisations and Sponsors are working hard to ensure this year’s London International Shipping Week is bigger and better than ever before.

Visitors to the week-long event (September 13-17) must register on the official LISW21 Portal if they want to access the LISW21 official event calendar to discover all the events scheduled to take place during the week. REGISTER FOR THE FREE LISW21 PORTAL HERE

Over 100 events are already on the calendar or are in the process of being posted and many more will be added in the next few weeks. Many of the events are in-person as well as online and are free, so get registering. Slotting an event online means it can be accessed and viewed by an even wider international audience than ever before.

So, register on the portal and also visit the  website to be totally up-to-date with everything that is happening at LISW21.LISW21 WEBSITE

LISW21 Headline Conference hosted at the IMO

With Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s confirmation this week that social distancing is no longer required at in-person events, arrangements to hold the LISW21 Headline Conference at the London headquarters of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) have burst into action.

The prestigious 730-seat auditorium at the United Nations’ home of global shipping is now expected to be packed with delegates from the UK and further afield as international travel restrictions are also eased in the run-up to LISW21.

The Headline Conference, Driving Growth and Recovery in a Disrupted World, will feature the highest-level speakers in the global maritime sector, as well as globally recognised thought leaders from the financial, environmental and political arenas.

This unique one-day Headline Conference will include a special networking lunch and a spectacular evening reception on the rooftop of the iconic IMO building, overlooking the Houses of Parliament, River Thames, and the London skyline.

Tickets for this remarkable in-person event, including the networking lunch and evening reception, will sell out quickly, so early booking is highly recommended.

ifan

The iconic National Maritime Museum in Greenwich has been selected to host the stunning black tie LISW21 Gala Reception and Dinner on Thursday 16 September.

Recognised as the largest museum of its kind in the world, comprising the Royal Observatory, Queen’s House and Cutty Sark, the Royal Museums Greenwich will provide a glorious background to one of the most prestigious events of the week.

Dinner guests will be given special dispensation to roam some of the museum’s remarkable galleries and view its unique and truly historic maritime collections before sitting down to a glittering dinner among the 600 highest-level VIPs in shipping and government.

With a huge demand for dinner tickets and space limited by the dimensions of the room, tables are currently reserved for top-level sponsors and VVIPs. However, a waiting list for full tables and individual places is now available for this amazing evening. BECOME A TOP-LEVEL SPONSORJOIN THE WAITING LIST

London Talks. Decarbonisation is shipping’s biggest challenge – ever!

Decarbonisation is the biggest challenge the shipping industry faces now and possibly will ever face, according to Charles ‘Bud’ Darr, Executive VP Maritime Policy and Government Affairs for ship operator MSC Group.

Delivering the latest in the London Talks series of video presentations, Bud Darr explored the range of challenges surrounding shipping’s decarbonisation goals and advised that stakeholders need to work together in strategic partnerships.

He stated: “What is the single biggest challenge that we’re facing? It is decarbonisation. This is not only the biggest regulatory challenge, and the biggest policy challenge, and practical challenge, that we’re facing today. In my opinion this will be the biggest one ever.”
