
The World Ocean Council (WOC) and The Ocean Opportunity Lab (TOOL) have launched the Biofouling Innovation Challenge, seeking innovative solutions for the prevention, management and monitoring of marine biofouling.

The World Ocean Council (WOC) and The Ocean Opportunity Lab (TOOL) are collaborating on a global competition to address biofouling, and will host two informational webinars this Thursday, May 19.
The Biofouling Innovation Challenge seeks solutions to the prevention, management and monitoring of marine biofouling. Startups, innovators and researchers are invited to submit their solutions in any of the following categories:

![]() | Monitoring biofouling and measuring performance |
Selected proposals will earn a spot in the pitchfest taking place during WOC’s Sustainable Ocean Summit in October, with representatives from the investment community. In addition, proposals from each category will be featured on the TOOL Project Platform, TOOL Spawn, as “Solutions to Watch.”
The deadline for submissions is July 30.
