Sailing Cargo Ships – The Experience of CurrentOwners and Charterers |
Thursday, July 21, 2022Time: 10:00 AM ET (New York time) |
We are excited to announce that Sailing Cargo Ships will be the focus of TheHigh Tide Foundation’s next 25-minute monthly maritime decarbonization webinar on Thursday, July 21st. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to meet owners and charterers of vessels that are operating today.
Wind is the ultimate renewable resource and exists in abundance at sea – which is why it has an important role in maritime decarbonization. Sailing cargo ships are not just being discussed, they are operating on the sea today. In early 2019, a keel laying ceremony was held for the lead ship in a class of wind powered cargo vessels. In 2021, a vessel discharged its cargo in New York after 28-day voyage from France propelled solely by the wind. During the second half of 2022, a consortium of companies will award a tender for the carbon-neutral transportation of containers from Europe to North America.
In this installment of the Marine Money fighting climate change webinar series supported by the High Tide Foundation, we speak with three companies at the forefront of decarbonized shipping:
Danielle Doggett, Founder and CEO of SailCargo Inc
Speaker TBA, Grain de Sail
Geraud Pellat de Villedon, Head of CSR for the supply chain at Michelin
These vessels, while small by the standards of bluewater shipping, are proving the market for carbon-free shipping. We hope you will join us to hear what they have learned.
Marine Money is proud to have collaborated with WindSupport NYC to produce this webinar.
Sincerely,
The Marine Money Team
