Global Markets

The US headline CPI rose more than expected in September with strong gains in core services CPI, feeding on expectations that the Fed may raise interest rates again this year. In reaction, sovereign bond yields rose on both sides of the Atlantic and the USD gained against major currency peers.

Greece                                                                                                                                                                          BoG Governor Stournaras forecasts robust GDP growth rates in the area of 2.5% to 3% in the following years; Greece tops EU27 in post-pandemic recovery of commercial air traffic.

CESEE

In Serbia, inflation eased from 11.5%YoY in August to 10.2%YoY in September, faring better than market expectations, which implied inflation coming in at 10.7%YoY. The country will hold snap elections on December 17 and in Poland the ballot opens this Sunday for electing a new parliament.
