
With the aim of promoting Greece in the UK market as an ideal destination for both family holidays and luxury travel, the GNTO Office of the United Kingdom & Ireland participated in a one-day event/roadshow dedicated to Greece, organised by the Tour Operator Kuoni, part of the Der Touristik Group. The event took place on April 9, 2025, at Kuoni’s headquarters in Dorking, Surrey, United Kingdom.
During the event, Greece’s competitive advantages as an ideal destination for family vacations were highlighted. Kuoni’s travel agents and sales executives were also updated on the latest developments in a range of destinations, including Athens, Alonissos, Corfu, Kos, Crete, Mykonos, Rhodes, Santorini, Skiathos, Skopelos, and Halkidiki.
The initiative was warmly welcomed by Mrs. Eleni Skarveli, who also held a meeting with Mr. Mark Duguid, MD of Kuoni UK. The discussion focused on expanding the range of Greek destinations included in Kuoni’s travel packages for the upcoming season, as well as diversifying and upgrading the offered tourism products. It is worth noting that Greece ranks 5th overall in Kuoni’s sales and holds the top position for summer family holidays.
The event was deemed highly successful, attracting 55 specialised travel agents representing 48 travel stores, 15 in-store “implants” at John Lewis department stores, as well as staff from Kuoni’s call center. This significantly enhanced the reach and penetration of Greek tourism offerings across the UK. Attendees expressed strong interest through targeted questions about Greek destinations and showed a clear willingness to deepen their knowledge of Greece.
The event was further supported by representatives from leading Greek hotel groups including Daios Cove, Domes, Grecotel, Sani/Ikos, and Santikos Collection, who presented a total of 85 hotels from across the country.
