18 months to go so now is the time to start planning

Time flies when you are having fun, as the saying goes, but it seems to whizz by even faster when you are planning the next instalment of the world’s ‘must-attend’ maritime event.

Even though LISW25 is over a year away, we’re already seeing strong interest from established supporters and sponsors. Signalling that building on the success of the 10 Year anniversary event in 2023, LISW25 will be even stronger and better supported than last year’s excellent event, meaning that strong forward planning is essential.

With John Hulmes and Denis Petropoulos reappointed as Chairs of the Steering Group and Board of Advisors respectively, the core planning of the essence of LISW25 can now really begin to ensure that we have the right issues on the table. John Hulmes, Chairman of the LISW25 Steering Group, has a desire ‘to start work on creating an event to surpass all others’.

One of the key jobs of the SG and BOA will be to agree the themes and sub themes for next year’s event. With so much happening on the geopolitical front, together with the drive towards effective decarbonisation and the embracing of efficiencies through enhanced AI, shipping’s dashboard is full. Cutting a clear pathway through the debate and the commentary via effective blue-sky thinking is what LISW is good at. The shipping industry will be looking to the hundreds of official LISW events, as well as the headline LISW25 Conference, for clear reckoning on the issues under debate.
