At MIA PHOTO FAIR BNP PARIBAS 2025, Moiré Gallery Milano presents DONNA SOGGETTO (Woman Subject), an evocative exhibition that reclaims female identity as a subject of dialogue rather than an object of observation. Running from March 20 to 23 at Superstudio Più, Milan, the showcase unites photography and sculpture in a profound exploration of self-determination, strength, and vulnerability.
A Visual Narrative of Empowerment
The exhibition, curated by Ouafa Lotfi Tahoun, features the ethereal yet dynamic photography of Veronica Gaido and the sculptural mastery of Kim De Ruysscher. Through their work, they challenge traditional perceptions of female representation in art, replacing passivity with agency and intention.
At the heart of the exhibition is Gaido’s “Aphrodite” series, where light, movement, and nudity coalesce into a fluid expression of identity and transformation. Her images recall the brushstrokes of Impressionist painters while harnessing the dynamism of Futurism, offering a liquid photography technique that feels both ephemeral and deeply personal. In its paradox, the sculpture embodies freedom of choice—whether to reveal or remain hidden—affirming that true power lies in autonomy over one’s own image.
