2025 may mark a reset year, as companies reassess or scale back their sustainability commitments and governments revisit their priorities amid a shifting geopolitical and economic landscape. A key emerging trend is the retreat from globalisation and with growing emphasis on national dynamics and new spheres of influence. Political shifts, especially in relation to environmental policy, present significant challenges. Withdrawal from international agreements and reduced funding for sustainable technologies may hinder global cooperation on sustainable development and green transition.
As this year is expected to be critical for seizing opportunities and establishing Greece as a hub for innovation and sustainability, it is crucial that businesses and institutions further advance the transition from resilience to growth, taking advantage of the opportunities brought by digitalisation, the green transition, and international investment.

The 15th Annual Capital Link Sustainability Forum, with the participation of senior government, public, and private sector representatives, will examine developments on these key issues and their implications. With topics covering the latest trends, the Forum serves as a framework for today s private and public sector leaders, focusing on their efforts to implement sustainability strategies in critical sectors of the Greek economy, and acting as a platform for dialogue to achieve the common goal of sustainability, Investments, and Growth via responsible investment and business practices.
The Annual Capital Link Sustainability Forum is celebrating its 15th anniversary, and the day coincides with World Environment Day, which is an important reminder of the need to protect the planet and adopt practices that ensure the sustainability of natural resources for future generations.
The “2025 CAPITAL LINK SUSTAINABILITY LEADERSHIP AWARD” will be presented to Mr. Anthony S. Papadimitriou, President of the Onassis Foundation. In 2025, the Onassis Foundation celebrates 50 years since its founding, while also marking half a century since the passing of its founder, Aristotle Onassis.
The award will be presented to Mr. Anthony S. Papadimitriou, President of the Onassis Foundation by Mr. Constantinos Grammenos CBE, DSc., Professor of Shipping, Trade and Finance at the Lloyd’s Register Foundation, Chairman of the Costas Grammenos Centre for Shipping, Trade and Finance, Bayes Business School (formerly Cass), City, University of London. He is founder of the Shipping Chair “the Costas Grammenos Center for Bayes Business School” (formerly Cass) and first President of the International Hellenic University from 2006 to 2019.
