| IUMI has recently issued Best Practice and Recommendations for the Safe Carriage of Electric Vehicles (EVs) that focuses on risks and risk mitigation options associated with the carriage of electric vehicles (EVs) on two different ship types (i.e., Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs) and roro/ropax vessels). |
| Hybrid cars and other alternative fuel vehicles are not considered since the largest share of new energy vehicles are EVs. The proportion of other alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs) in the global car fleet is currently limited and unlikely to grow significantly in the near future. |
