At her “Chrysalis” presentation during Milan Fashion Week, emerging corset designer Elena Friolotto—founder of Eibhlín Actias—delivered a mesmerizing vision of femininity, transformation, and slow fashion. Set within the evocative atmosphere of Spazio Lineapelle in Piazza Tomasi di Lampedusa, Milan, the showcase offered a poetic and tactile experience that bridged couture craftsmanship and conceptual design.
Known for her deep technical know-how and background with notable Italian fashion houses, Friolotto continues to push the boundaries of traditional corsetry. With “Chrysalis,” she drew on the symbolism of metamorphosis to unveil corsets that felt both ethereal and empowering.

Her signature touch? Handmade leather butterflies—thinned, shaped, and hand-painted—gracefully fluttered across bodices like wearable sculptures, suggesting themes of emergence, freedom, and identity.

The garments themselves were constructed entirely in Italy, using noble materials such as pure silk and fine leathers. Each corset was meticulously tailored, underscoring the brand’s commitment to artisanal integrity and individuality.

Far from being simply historical silhouettes, these pieces reflected a new language of expression—where structure meets soul, and each creation is as unique as the wearer.

More than fashion, Chrysalis acts as a manifesto. It highlights the corset’s evolving role—from restrictive undergarment to liberating symbol of self-affirmation.

Through form-fitting silhouettes, deconstructed details, and subtle provocation, the designer played with the notions of identity, fluidity, and empowerment. Whether adorned with Swarovski crystals or minimal in detail, every corset whispered a different story—crafted slowly, deliberately, and with purpose.

Eibhlín Actias has positioned herself as a modern artisan whose work speaks to those who seek authenticity and artistry. You can custom order her masterpieces online or meet her in her brand new atelier she just opened on Via Don Minzoni 19 in Alassio.
