We are proud to announce that Chairman David A. Wright of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission will join the From Policy to Practice: Key Regulatory Milestones panel at the New Nuclear for Maritime: A New Era for the United States this October.
Currently serving a five-year term at the NRC, Chairman Wright brings unmatched expertise in navigating the complexities of nuclear regulation. His career includes leadership of Wright Directions, LLC, advisory roles with the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Nuclear Waste Initiative, and service as Ex Officio Member and Chairman Emeritus of the Nuclear Waste Strategy Coalition – an organisation uniting industry, governments, tribes, and consumer advocates.
Chairman Wright’s breadth of experience will anchor an important conversation alongside experts from the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Hogan Lovells, and the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). Together, they will examine the regulatory milestones and challenges that must be addressed to make floating nuclear a reality.
As the energy transition accelerates, strong regulation and clear policy will be vital to unlocking this next chapter in maritime innovation.

We are excited to announce that the first batch of the panel videos from the New Nuclear for Maritime European Summit 2025 are now available our YouTube channel.
Charting the Course: New Nuclear for Maritime | Charlotte Vere sets the tone, declaring that this is the year new nuclear for maritime goes mainstream. She outlines the two key pathways shaping the industry’s future: floating nuclear power plants (FNPPs) and nuclear-powered shipping.

The LIBERTY Program: Setting the Gold Standard | Tobi Menzies introduces LIBERTY, a comprehensive initiative to build the world’s first full-scale maritime civil nuclear ecosystem. By combining regulation, market development and supply chain readiness, LIBERTY lays the foundation for nuclear to thrive across the shipping sector.

CORE POWER’s white paper revisits the successes and lessons of past civil nuclear ships, explaining why today’s maritime sector is uniquely placed to adopt nuclear propulsion.
It highlights the challenges of integrating nuclear technology into the maritime sector, discusses the advantages of nuclear-powered vessels over conventionally fuelled ships, and explores nuclear propulsion configurations.
