John (Ioannis) Pavlopoulos, CEO Sea Guardian S.G. Ltd, Vice Admiral (ret.) H.N., Honorary Commander in Chief of the Hellenic Fleet Former Military Representative of Greece to the NATO and EU, speaks on “KALES THALASSES” a program of ERT’s VOICE OF GREECE.
He talks about the situation as same has has developed to date in the Strait of Hormuz, the Persian Gulf and the wider region.
“Any movement of commercial ships in the region is targeted and requires great attention. The global economy depends heavily on the region’s oil and natural gas. The safety of life at sea is the most important thing of all,” says Admiral Pavlopoulos, among other things.
It also highlights the alternative solutions and areas being discussed for fuel supply and how important the role of diplomacy is in this difficult crisis.
Admiral Pavlopoulos also makes special reference to the eight most critical points – narrow global chockpoints that determine global shipping and the economy. Five of them are near and around Greece.
