We are delighted to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the WWW.ALLABOUTSHIPPING.CO.UK news and features site, coinciding with the magnificent shipping exhibition and business platform POSIDONIA 2026.

We extend our thanks and appreciation to the site’s founders ANNY, PANOS and ELENA, NICHOLAS – who also created our amazing logo and site, and JOHN. To all the individuals who helped and supported us with adverts, articles and friendly suggestions for new features we are indebted. To all those who invited us as guests, as speakers, moderators in conference sessions and many a forum all over Planet Ocean we say that these memories remain firmly with us. To all those who invited us to their exhibitions, we say that we have been thrilled to meet exponents of technologies and applications ancient and modern.

A special mention goes to the women in shipping who have shared with us their triumphs and knowledge of shipping, law and insurance and other specialities. Over the last seven years we have run a well-supported poll to nominate the 100 top women in shipping, and have promoted their interests by inviting them to write articles and  participate in interviews for www.allaboutshipping.co.uk.

Women in the last decade and a half have risen to many prominent roles and we have reported fully on the activities of the Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA) and its chapters in many countries and sectors. Among such leaders is Melina Travlos who is president of the Union of Greek Shipowners. In her welcome message for Posidonia 2026, she declared: “With a shared vision and collective effort, shipping will continue to safeguard humanity’s welfare and global prosperity.” We certainly endorse such a perspective.

Our site has run its sometimes-controversial Market predictions and Reports, bringing in our Geopolitical analysis, without pulling any punches, as noted in our series of articles under the theme: Death of Diplomacy.

We can add the trust of TV and Radio Stations in these 15 years to invite us to speak regularly live, giving another dimension to our contribution to the global industry.

Needless to say, Maritime Education and Training is a major theme. Our academic and awards success winning twice (2022 and 2023) with top of the range members from Universities and the Shipping Industry, respective Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics (AHFE) Awards in programmes with respect to the Health and Safety aspects of Shipping.

In all, we have just over 150 subjects/themes/categories to cover under ten major categories/sectors. We support the arts and fashion too with articles and reviews by James Brewer, Elena Sendona, Arietta Pouliou and others.

A big thanks and appreciation to the London Shipping Law Centre, the Hellenic Engineers Society of Great Britain, the Chios Marine Club and Further and Further for their immense support, needless to say to the late Jim Davis, Chairman of the IMIF for his thoughtful guidance and support!

Lastly, a special thanks to G. George Associates Limited, Chartered Certified Accountants & Registered Auditors, for their guidance.

Here’s to the next 15 years and more!
