The Chios Marine Club participated in the two-day Island-wide Celebration in honour and memory of Saint Paraskevi of Krini, Asia Minor, organised by the Association of Agiaparaskevousians of Krini, Asia Minor, on 25 and 26 July 2026, at the Holy Church of Saint Paraskevi in Kastello, Chios.
As part of the celebration, on Saturday, 25 July 2026, the Chios Marine Club was among the organisations honoured in recognition of its longstanding and multifaceted contribution to Greek shipping and its significant service to the maritime community. The Club was represented by its President, Capt. Antonis Pitsilos, Vice President Mr. Makis Kasmas, and Special Secretary, Capt. Kostas Geomelos. On the same day, the solemn Procession of the Holy Icon of Saint Paraskevi took place in the presence of a large congregation of faithful, representatives of the local authorities, and distinguished members of the Chios community.
The Board of Directors and the Members of the Chios Marine Club extend their sincere gratitude to the Association of Agiaparaskevousians of Krini, Asia Minor, and especially to its President, Mr. Konstantinos Mimidis, for the great honour of recognising and presenting this award to our Club. At the same time, we warmly commend the Association for its remarkable and enduring work in preserving, promoting, and passing on the historical memory, cultural heritage, and traditions of Hellenism in Asia Minor.
We sincerely wish the Association continued success in its valuable mission, keeping alive the memory of our ancestors and passing on their values, history, and rich cultural heritage to future generations.
