The Leghorn-based TCO (Terminal Calata Orlando) has come under the direct control of the Fratelli Neri and Nova Marine Carriers groups.
A majority stake in TCO has been acquired by holding company NR Investimenti, jointly owned on an equal basis by the two groups, while the remaining stake is held by the family of Roberto Alberti, the long-standing maritime agent in Leghorn.
The transaction brings together the expertise of a major terminal operator and that of a carrier capable of planning and managing cargo flows and transport operations. Its objective is to relaunch TCO, a multipurpose terminal located at Calata Orlando in the commercial port of Leghorn, an area dedicated to break bulk cargo traffic.
The terminal is equipped with a 450-metre quay and covers a total area of approximately 32,000 square metres for the handling and storage of breakbulk and bulk cargo.
Starting in the coming weeks, the terminal will be the subject of a significant investment programme aimed at expanding its traffic volumes and further improving its operational efficiency standards.
