Nissa Finds Paradise in Milan with Garden of Eden for SS27

Some gardens are imagined as states of mind and a symbols of beauty. For Spring/Summer 2027, NISSA enters such a dreamy universe with Garden of Eden, a collection that was unveiled at Café Floretta at The Carlton Milan on September 24, 2026, during Milan Fashion Week. Romantic, sensual and touched by an undercurrent of mystery, the season places femininity inside a landscape where nature and fantasy seem to grow into one another.

Presented through an intimate, immersive format rather than a conventional runway, Garden of Eden draws its emotional vocabulary from paradise: flowers, water, changing light and the quiet tension between something meticulously cultivated and something determined to grow wild. At its center is the NISSA woman—self-possessed, instinctive and unmistakably present.

That premise takes physical form through elongated silhouettes and dresses that move closely around the body. Fluid draping gives the collection an ease that feels particularly suited to summer, while open backs, asymmetric cuts and strategically placed slits reveal flashes of skin. Transparency appears in diaphanous layers, joined by lace, embroidery and sequins that create surfaces designed to change with movement and light.

Satin brings another dimension. Draped into fluid shapes, it has an almost aqueous character, recalling the reflections of fountains and pools hidden within a garden. Rather than treating embellishment as decoration applied after the fact, Garden of Eden folds texture into the collection’s visual language. Floral details appear to have emerged organically from the clothes themselves, as though gathered from an imagined landscape and carried directly onto the body.

Color deepens the illusion. Ivory and pearl move into powdery and dusty rose, while muted sage, moss and rich botanical greens evoke foliage at different hours of the day. Twilight blues and black introduce shadow. The lighter shades suggest petals, pale stone and surfaces warmed by sunlight; the darker tones lend the collection its nocturnal sensuality.

The result is a wardrobe built around contrasts. Precision gives way to fluidity. Delicacy coexists with strength. Romantic codes remain visible without becoming nostalgic, as NISSA loosens classical ideas of femininity through relaxed draping, transparency and a distinctly contemporary relationship with the body.

That sense of femininity has long occupied the center of the Romanian house’s identity. Founded in 1993 as a family business, NISSA has developed its womenswear around quality fabrics, recognizable silhouettes and contemporary ready-to-wear. Its founder and creative director began her career as a model before establishing the label with her sister and mother, and more than three decades later the company remains connected to its Romanian roots. NISSA designs and develops its collections in-house, with production rooted in Romania.

Rather than sending the clothes past guests for a matter of seconds, NISSA conceived the presentation as an extension of Garden of Eden itself. The garden-inspired setting allowed guests to encounter the silhouettes and workmanship at close range, followed by an evening cocktail bringing together international press, buyers, fashion professionals and digital creators. It was a format particularly suited to clothes whose impact lies in draping, transparency, embroidery and surface detail—the elements that become more compelling the nearer one gets.

NISSA’s Milan presence also extended beyond the September 24 presentation. The house participated in WHITE Milano in the Tortona Fashion District from September 24 through 27, 2026, while Garden of Eden was introduced to international buyers through Panorama Moda, Via Morimondo 21, Milan, the brand’s permanent showroom and commercial base for the Italian market. Together, the presentation, trade-show presence and showroom appointments positioned the collection before both the editorial world and the international buying community.

For a house whose international reach now extends across fashion centers including Milan, Paris, New York, Dubai, London, Madrid, Istanbul and Monte Carlo, Garden of Eden carries a distinctly Romanian creative identity onto an increasingly global stage. Its craftsmanship remains tied to the country where NISSA began, while its Milan presence reflects the international direction the label has steadily pursued.

Yet the most memorable idea within Garden of Eden may be the simplest: paradise is defined by the woman standing inside it. Here, she does not disappear beneath embroidery, flowers or fantasy. The garden seems to respond to her instead. Satin catches the light as she moves.

Transparent layers reveal and conceal. Florals appear to grow across the clothes. Softness never erases confidence, and sensuality arrives without theatrical excess. In NISSA’s Eden, femininity is allowed to be romantic, assured, mysterious and free.
