Nigel Evans MP visited Singapore Airlines for a unique insight into the world at 39, 000ft.
Nigel Evans, Member of Parliament for Ribble Valley, visited Singapore Airlines as part of his Industry and Parliament Trust (IPT) Postgraduate Fellowship in aviation.
The visit to the UK offices of Singapore Airlines included a meeting with Regional Vice President Europe, Mr Subhas Menon, who spoke to Mr Evans about the company’s current strategies and initiatives, as well as providing an overview of the company’s footprint and flight path in Europe.
During the visit, Mr Evans also met Mr Wilson Yong (General Manager UK & Ireland) and Phillip Parker (Catering & Premium Services Executive), who covered a range of topics including an overview of Singapore Airlines in the UK, the ongoing importance of UK travel trade, as well as an introduction to airline catering and the premium services provided by the airline, including The Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge.
The visit highlighted all aspects of the company’s work and some of the current issues facing the airline industry and will help to inform the work which Mr Evans undertakes in Parliament.

“Singapore Airlines has put on a fascinating visit for me today, covering a wide range of topics and they have addressed a number of current issues affecting the aviation industry. I would like to thank everyone at Singapore Airlines for all the work they have put in to making today such a success.
“Undertaking a Postgraduate Fellowship with the IPT has enabled me to look into a completely different sector to my Fellowship, which I completed in 1998. It has given me a far greater knowledge of the aviation industry, which has helped me to make more informed contributions to debates in Parliament.”
