Portland
The port has announced details of a new tariff coming into effect from 1 July, with increases of approximately 3% covering Pilotage, Towage, Line handling, Berthage and Tonnage Dues.

Hay Point & Abbot Point – Harbour and tonnage dues
North Queensland Bulk Ports advise of a 3% increase to Harbour Dues and Tonnage Dues. The Tonnage Dues rate, applicable to vessels’ GRT, increases from $0.272c/GRT to $0.28c/GRT.
(Note – Harbour Dues costs are payable by Shippers)

Mackay Harbour
North Queensland Bulk Ports advises increases of 3% to apply to Tonnage rate, Moor/Unmoor and Security.

Newcastle
The Port Authority of NSW advises that the Pilot Boarding Fee at Newcastle will increase from $1328.80 to $1674.88 per vessel movement. This equates to an extra $628.87 per vessel call at Newcastle. The new fee – which is applicable for all vessels except those under 8, 000 GT (not including tugs and barges) – comes into effect on 1 July. This increase is based on recovery of cost increments associated with the provision of helicopter services from third party subcontractors, which Port Authority has been paying since 1 January 2016.

News of other cost increases coming into effect is expected and will be advised when available.
