The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) lost another 11 points since last Friday the 21st of October and now stands at 831 points “thanks” to the Capers; Geopolitical uncertainty and the Middle East’s further escalation must be viewed with extreme caution. John Faraclas’ daily briefing:
So the three-digit Capers’ fall brought the BCI 2014 down to 1,471 points – 104 down since 21/10; free fall? Market correction, time will tell – for sure a very unpleasant situation with incalculable repercussions …
The Panamaxes maintained upwards trend with an eight point plus bringing the BPI at 923 points; cross your fingers…
The Supras’ BSI was also up five points at 705 – not so bad given the circumstances…
The Handies’ BHSI gained just one point now reading 428…
The Wets now with the last published BDTI and BCTI at 691 (up one) and 428 (up six) respectively…
The Shipbuilding industry sees South Korea in need of US$ 30 billion for restructuring its ailing and disastrous Shipping and Shipbuilding industries. Hanjin was just the beginning… China is also in tatters over the same issue..
The price of WTI at US$ 50,45 down from last Fridays level of US$ 50.50 – it reached US$ 51, so let’s call it “stable” just above the US$ 50 threshold for the producers and for the buyers… Big money for every cent gained…
The market dynamics have been offset by bankruptcies already announced and others queuing/ looming in the background, yet this is the best ever time to buy!
We are living and experiencing cataclysmic situations and many stakeholders ignore the consequences as they are totally unaware of risk assessment procedures…
The Geopolitical chaos continues:
The MIGRANTS now are headlines and breaking news all over the Middle East, Northern Africa up to Afghanistan region, needless to say all over Europe – Calais (too much fires and arsons) , Italy, Greece (Lesvos Island EU office set alight) , Malta, and Spain. At the other side of the Atlantic, Mexicans arrest 121 dehydrated MIGRANTS included 55 minors – all from Central America, bound for the USA!…
Turkey tries to get involved in the Middles Easts inferno – being clever is one thing, being wise is what counts more in the long run…
The fight for Mosul and liberation of the region continues and ISIS although puts resistance needs to be crashed NOW before the situation escalates and leads to world-wide terrorists acts. The international community has the ability, if they wish, to name and shame the suppliers of weaponry to ISIS!!! Just do it and stop the hype.
The Syrian saga continues and the worries now will engulf Israel if Hamas continues its rockets policy. The Israeli Defence Minister was explicit for going for long FOR THE LAST TIME in Gaza… Another war and the conflagration will rule the day… Did I hear you say diplomats?
BREXIT for sure will benefit the United Kingdom if its negotiators do the absolute right job. Unity is of paramount importance. Mrs. May is determined to make the best deal!
In Greece the situ, as we have written numerous times begins to get off hand. CAUTION for Greece, CAUTION for Europe. Mrs. Merkel and Mrs Tsipras are being asked to give Greece a chance; the chance Greece deserves – you dead well know what I mean… Otherwise expect the biggest disaster in European History…
Europe is in a MESS. Admittedly few can recognise this. Political blindness at its best. FREXIT, ITEX, GREXIT… Time for all please…
The EU- Canada deal continues to make waves… Will same be accepted, rescued or we are heading for yet another disaster.
Putin’s Russia is now pushing in all fronts…
China and India have their own problems and I can see a temporizing for both whilst awaiting the USA’s presidential result… The Chinese authorities are punishing one million Chinese officials over corruption!
In the USA, the die is cast! Caution though must be observed until the last moment.
In South America now: Venezuela is trying to make appropriate peace between Maduro and the opposition; sounds interesting but at the same time dangerous…
Terrorists begin to hit around the world and we must ensure we (the free world) are in total control! The latest incident in Pakistan must be taken seriously on account! No excuses! Anti-UN protests in Central African Republic leave four dead…
That’s all for tonight; take care and ensure you have contingency plans for what is coming up…
