The Journey continues
Marine-themed paintings of the Greek artist Chryssa Dellaporta at Hydra
The Greek artist Chryssa Dellaporta whom we have the honour to have featured in earlier reports in Allaboutshipping will exhibit her work at the Municipal Art Gallery “Melina Merkouri” at the beautiful and historic Port of Hydra, from 9 to 15 July 2018.
Chryssa creates paintings based around maritime themes including classical sailing ships, traditional boats, tug boats and ports, showing not only a sensitivity and great love for the sea, but for all things associated with it. She weaves maritime stories and reveals the ‘character’ of each yacht in her work using the traditional technique of sea-painting and the honesty of realism, where the style itself can be called yacht portraiture.
Her show at Hydra adds to several solo exhibitions in her portfolio, from the Naval Museum of Greece, to the Yacht Club of Greece, HORC, twice in the Piraeus Marine Club, the Poseidonion Grand Hotel on Spetses island (for the Armada and Spetses Classic Yacht Race from 2011 to 2016), Gallery Nymphes, Titanium Gallery and many others.
The artist’s paintings are in many private collections in Greece and elsewhere.
