Installation and maintenance of silt barricades off Tuas Western Coast

The working period for the installation and maintenance of silt barricades off Tuas Western Coast has been extended.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.073 of 2018, the work will now be carried out from 0730 to 1930 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – from 20 July 2018 to 19 January 2019, within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 01 deg. 18.591’N / 103 deg. 37.407’E
2) 01 deg. 18.604’N / 103 deg. 37.367’E
3) 01 deg. 18.487’N / 103 deg. 37.198’E
4) 01 deg. 18.478’N / 103 deg. 37.226’E
5) 01 deg. 18.157’N / 103 deg. 37.108’E
6) 01 deg. 18.111’N / 103 deg. 37.230’E
The silt barricades will be installed by a crane barge, assisted by work boats.
A safety boat will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.
Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) keep well clear and not enter the working area;
b) maintain a proper lookout;
c) proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
e) communicate with Jurong Control on VHF Channel 22 for assistance, if required.

Canal cleared for convoys to resume

As per available information from the Suez Canal Authority, the 39,929 DWT bulk vessels that ran aground during its transit yesterday (16 July) was refloated in the evening and arrived at Great Bitter Lakes at 0630 hours this morning (17 July). As a result, the Canal was cleared and ready for convoys to resume their transits.
18 ships from yesterday’s southbound convoy that had been waiting at Great Bitter Lakes started resuming their transit at about 0700 hours local time. Only 11 ships from total of 29 ships in today’s convoy entered the Canal, while the rest are waiting at Port Said anchorage for SCA transit arrangements.
Only 6 ships from yesterday’s northbound convoy had entered the Canal after the grounded ship was cleared. These were waiting at Great Bitter Lakes. The remaining 12 ships from the convoy remained at Suez anchorages. About 25 ships registered on today’s northbound convoys are at Suez Anchorages awaiting SCA Transit arrangements

New 96 hour online visa requirement

Fujairah Port Immigration has implemented a new rule which requires a 96 hour online visa for all nationalities embarking/disembarking at the Fujairah port. There are not more no more on-arrival visa for 48 countries.
Nationals of GCC countries Oman, Saudi, Kuwait and Bahrain nationals do not require a visa as they are holding GCC country passport.
