Marine works at the Black Point Power Station

For approximately 13 months, marine works involving reinstatement of seawall for modification of a cooling water intake will be carried out in the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent shoreline:
(A) 22 deg. 24.672’N / 113 deg. 54.355’E
(B) 22 deg. 24.687’N / 113 deg. 54.338’E
(C) 22 deg. 24.726’N / 113 deg. 54.378’E
(D) 22 deg. 24.710’N / 113 deg. 54.396’E
The works will be carried out by one derrick lighter. One tugboat will provide assistance.
A working area of approximately 20 metres will be established around the derrick lighter. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the derrick lighter.
Silt curtains, extending from the sea surface to the seabed, will be established within the works area. The silt curtain is a large piece of netting used to contain mud and sediments. Yellow flashing lights will be fitted to the silt curtains to mark their extents.
The hours of work will be from 0800 to 1800 hours. Vessels employed for the works will not stay in the works area outside the hours of work.
Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.

Lock closure for maintenance & repairs

One big lock chamber at Brunsbuettel is currently out of service for maintenance and repair works.
The lock is scheduled to be out of service from Monday to Thursday this week during the hours of 0700 and 1700. The lock will be in operation from 17.00 to 07.00 hours.
Next week, the lock will be completely out of service.
There are currently no significant waiting times at either Kiel or Brunsbuettel locks.

Shore protection works

Shore protection works are underway at Changi Creek and will continue until 16 February 2019.
According the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.084 of 2018, the works are being conducted 24 hours daily – including Sundays & Public Holidays – within the working area bounded by the following coordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1) 1 deg. 23.539’N / 103 deg. 59.129’E
2) 1 deg. 23.519’N / 103 deg. 59.200’E
3) 1 deg. 23.509’N / 103 deg. 59.197’E
4) 1 deg. 23.531’N / 103 deg. 59.129’E
The works will involve the construction of revetment structures.
Safety boats will be deployed to warn other craft in the vicinity of the working area.
Craft involved in the works will exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 21 (Sembawang Control);
and
e) Communicate with Sembawang Control on VHF Channel 21 for assistance, if required.
