The BDI@1,549; “resurrection”?
The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) ended up 103 points earlier on today with the Capes gaining 222 points! Geopolitics in limbo. John Faraclas’ brief daily recap:
The Capes surpassed the 2,900 point threshold with the BCI at 2,939 points…
The Panamaxes BPI had a good day too; plus 63 points and now standing at 1,433 points.
Minor but positive changes for the Supras now at 803 points – plus seven.
One point plus for the Handies’ BHSI now at 440 points.
The gap is getting narrowed and we are 698 points below the end of December 2013 closing when the BDI stood at 2,247 (2,247 – 1,549)… cross your fingers but caution is advised.
Once again mixed feelings for the Wets; the last published BDTI (Dirties) and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 673 – minus six and 547 – plus four points respectively.
Watch out developments on the Containers Trade…
Watch out the Scrubbers issue and obviously the coming up 2020!!
Behave appropriately with sanctions…

Geopolitics still perplexed…
The Migrants issue will develop to a more than messy issue with incalculable repercussions for all involved. Greece next door as well as Cyprus and Syria – add Iraq too, feel the Turkish bullying particularly when the European Union doesn’t have a coherent policy versus a non EU country, nation who violates its territory particularly with drilling for oil and gas et al… It will be too late when Europe wakes up!!
