As Special Secretary for Alternative Dispute Resolution of the Ministry of Justice, I had the honour to address the Greek Parliament within the framework of the 15th General Assembly of the World Hellenic Inter-Parliamentary Association (W.H.I.A.).

During my speech, I briefly presented the scope of the newly established Secretariat, which since March 2025 operates as a central reform tool in the field of Justice, with the main objectives of modernization and promotion of alternative dispute resolution methods.

I referred to the new Alternative Dispute Resolution Code and the forthcoming Code of Civil Procedure, which both shall contribute decisively to the acceleration and improvement of the administration of justice in Greece. I also presented data displaying the reduction in the time required to hear cases and the decongestion of the courts, thanks to the implementation of the new judicial map.

Finally, I mentioned as an example the issue of the reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures, an area where Mediation could offer a mutually beneficial solution, acting as a bridge of understanding and cultural diplomacy between the two countries.

Cooperation with the representatives of the Hellenic diaspora and the strengthening of justice through transparency and innovative practices remain our firm priorities. The effort continues, aiming for a justice that is more humane, accessible and effective.
