Invitation for LSLC’s event – The International Group’s LOIs (2023) – Legal and practical considerations – 16th April at the IDRC

A distinguished panel of speakers will consider the background to and function of the LOIs and their latest (2023) revisions.  How do they work in practice and is there scope for further improvement?
 
Specific issues that will be considered include:

• An introduction to LOIs and the 2023 revisions.
• Key considerations on the functioning of the LOIs from a practitioner’s perspective, including:
  • Problems arising when the cargo is discharged to a bonded warehouse pending delivery.
  • The impact of the right to compel the posting of security.
  • The changed landscape for mis-delivery claims following the Sienna and the impact on claims under the LOI.
  • The inter-play with Claims Co-operation Agreements.
• Are there improvements needed to the structure or detailed wording of the LOIs which call for further revision?
