Introduction In this fourth installment in the series of LSLC talks examining the crisis in the Persian Gulf, our attention turns to Marine War Risks Insurance, a line of cover that is crucial to international trade yet features only rarely in reported cases. Against the background of ongoing conflict in the Gulf, this seminar will examine what types of insurance are available as well as a number of controversial issues concerning coverage. Discussions will commence with an update by Graham Thomas of Herminius, advisers to the Joint War Committee, upon the present situation in the Gulf.
