More than 3, 000 people, including national and international manufacturers, merchants and nautical fans are expected to attend the 2014 Cartagena Boat Show, the largest Latin American exhibition within the marine industry. This marks the second consecutive year the city will host the show between March 22 -24, 2014 at the Convention Centre Cartagena de Indias.
The objective is “to transform a Latin American show into a global one where you can find everything you need to practice a water sport. There is no better place than Cartagena to make this happen, being Colombia’s hub of nautical related activities and events” said Juan Pablo Hernandez, director and partner at Easy Fairs for Latin America.
Easy Fairs, the company in charge of bringing together the 16 Latin American countries for the show, chose Cartagena not only for being a renowned tourist attraction but also because of its favourable conditions positioned away from the hurricane belt in addition to having an extensive bay. The show is supported by Proexport Colombia, the Colombian government agency for promoting tourism, trade and investment, which names “nautical and cruises” as one of the key tourism products.
“Having more than 3000 international experts in nautical tourism increases Cartagena standing as an ideal destination for this sport and contributes to the goal of four million foreign traveller arrivals that the government has set for 2014, ” said the president of Proexport Colombia, Maria Claudia Lacouture.
Thanks to Proexport, this year’s Boat Show will see the crucial alliance between the organisers and the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), the leading U.S trade association representing boat, marine engine and accessory manufacturers. Key companies will be participating in the event including Eduardoño, International Yacht Group, Elite Yachts, NavalCat International, PrimeYachts Colombia, Forestal Montoya Traders Supplier and Jaguar Adventure.
