GAC 01072014Class 2 Hazardous Materials Restriction in South Korea

Please be reminded that there is no licensed storage facilities in South Korea to store Class 2 Hazardous Materials (HAZ MAT).

Deliveries of Class 2 HAZ MAT can be made to marine terminals, but they must be loaded directly aboard ship as soon as arrive without storage, short or long term.

Seawall Reinstatement Works at Kwun Tong Tsai Wan
April 13, 2015, Hong Kong, Kwun Tong (Hong Kong)

From 9 April and for a period of approximately five months, seawall reinstatement works will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent shoreline:

(A) 22deg 17.733’ N 114deg 13.991’ E

(B) 22deg 17.757’ N 114deg 13.977’ E

(C) 22deg 17.795’ N 114deg 14.055’ E

(D) 22deg 17.771’ N 114deg 14.069’ E

The works will be carried out by one derrick lighter, one tug and one work boat. The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.

A working area of approximately 50 metres around the lighter will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the lighter.

The hours of works will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works area outside the hours of work.

A silt curtain, extending from the sea surface to the seabed, will be established within the works area. The silt curtain is large piece of netting used to contain mud and sediments. Yellow markers fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the extent of the silt curtain.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.

Marine Site Investigation off Po Toi O

From 9 April and for a period of approximately three months, marine site investigation works involving drilling of boreholes will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D):

(A) 22deg 16.853’N 114deg 17.848’E

(B) 22deg 16.797’N 114deg 17.848’E

(C) 22deg 16.797’N 114deg 17.788’E

(D) 22deg 16.853’N 114deg 17.788’E

The works will be carried out by one flat top barge. Some tugs will provide assistance.

A working area of approximately 50 metres around the barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the barge.

The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works areas outside the hours of work.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

From 9 April and for a period of approximately seven months, marine site investigation works involving drilling of boreholes will be carried out within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (G) and the adjacent shoreline:

(A) 22deg 17.513’N 114deg 16.002’E

(B) 22deg 17.467’N 114deg 16.002’E

(C) 22deg 17.477’N 114deg 15.858’E

(D) 22deg 17.654’N 114deg 15.386’E

(E) 22deg 17.770’N 114deg 15.386’E

(F) 22deg 17.589’N 114deg 15.854’E

(G) 22deg 17.584’N 114deg 16.002’E

The works will be carried out by one flat top barge and two jack-up platforms. Some tugs and guard boats will provide assistance.

A working area of approximately 50 metres around the barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the barge.

A working area of approximately 25 metres around each platform will be established. Yellow flashing lights will be installed at the four corners of each platform to indicate the position of the platforms.

The hours of work will be from 0800 to 1800 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. Vessels employed for the works will stay in the works areas outside the hours of work.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
