Capes blues …as Boris wins leadership and premiership
The BDI (Baltic Dry Index) lost 26 points earlier on today and now stands at 2,165 points increasing the gap to 82 points from that as of end of December 2013 (2,247) thanks to the Capes’ fall. Geopolitics remain more than crucial. John Faraclas brief recap:
The Capes’ fall was a triple-digit one, 123 points and the BCI now stands at 4,315… I hope we don’t witness another major fall alike in Jan, Feb and March this year…
Contained rise for the Panamaxes’ BPI now at 2,219 – plus 18…
Smiles for the Supras’ BSI now at 1,017 – plus 15points, and hooray hooray for the Handies’ BHSI at 503 over and above the 500 threshold – plus six points!
Mixed feeling for the Wets with minor +/-. The last published BDTI (Dirties) stood and BCTI (Cleans) stood at 624 – plus two and 478 minus two respectively.
The WTI was up 55 cents at US$ 56.77… Caution yet again…
The Geopolitics continue to be in a erratic course on all issues all over Planet Ocean…
The MIGRANTS will floor down governments and cause social upturns; remember this… when the day of reckoning comes… Too much hype and the whole issue has been simply derailed. Add that Turkey will cause from midnight onwards another mess as Erdogan doesn’t accept anymore “repatriations” to Turkey from the European Union and see what you get!
The new European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen – being approved by just a thin majority has to tackle, amongst other things, a common policy on refugees and migrants!!! Add the defence issue and strengthening the Euro and she what you get and the Herculean efforts she has to put up! Needless to say on how she keeps the EU together… Ah! Add the BREXIT saga… CAUTION and Readiness for all on the results we expect from her leadership!
BREXIT takes another twist and possible turn as Boris Johnson became the leader of the Conservative party and tomorrow begins as PM. Watch this space…

Greece and Cyprus as well as all East Med Nations east of Cape Passero are concerned with the Turkish approach on all issues in the region.
Greece tries to stand up after four and a half years of experimental lefty loony governing and austerity imposed by the morons in Brussels.

The EU on the case with Turkey’s violation of Cyprus EEZ is pathetic. The hype MUST end!
The USA has a lot of internal and external issue and the super power is being put to a major test. Let’s see how president Trump tackles all these demanding and urgent issues…
Mess in the Korean peninsula with Chinese and Russian intrusion and a strong response by South and North Korea respectively…
The Trade Wars, yes wars, continue and expect more to come! Can China sustain the Trade War particularly with the USA!
Japan is always closely watching all developments globally as well as locally; India too
Ukraine’s elections favoured very much its president being the first one after the fall of communism to control Parliament too! Still crucial times there…
Lastly mind the new heatwave in Europe and here in the UK with temperatures soaring above 40C… CAUTION!
