The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) has issued a revised policy on Requests for Extension of Expiration Date of Certificates.
This is as a result of a recent increase in the number of late extension requests.
As of 1 January 2012 there will be an additional charge of $2, 000 for all extension requests where the certificate holder fails to submit their application, and all applicable fees, to ASME at least 3 months prior to the current expiration date.
The additional charge will also apply where scheduling dates have not been confirmed at least 6 weeks prior to current expiration date.
