The strike by linesmen in the Kiel Canal ended at 22:00 hours yesterday (26 March), and transits are now possible in both directions with no further delays expected.

Dhamra Port has announced that vessel related charges have been revised, with effect from 1 April 2012.

DATE: March 27, 2012  – COUNTRY: Hong Kong – PORT: Hong Kong -Dredging Operations in Tin Wan, Aberdeen

For a period of approximately 1 month, dredging operations will be carried out in Tin Wan within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent shoreline:

  • (A) 22° 14.898’N / 114° 08.476’E
  • (B) 22° 14.888’N / 114° 08.472’E
  • (C) 22° 14.873’N / 114° 08.519’E
  • (D) 22° 14.883’N / 114° 08.523’E

The works will be carried out by one derrick lighter. One tug and one hopper barge will provide assistance. The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.

A working area of approximately 30 metres will be established around the lighter. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the lighter.

The works will be carried out from 0800 to 1800 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. The vessels employed for the works will stay in the works area outside the hours of work.

Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.

Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.
