DATE: June 21, 2012 – COUNTRY: Hong Kong – PORT: Hong Kong Marine Site Investigation at Sok Kwu Wan, Lamma Island
From 25 June 2012 and for approximately four weeks, marine site investigation works involving drilling of boreholes will be carried out [at Sok Kwu Wan, Lamma Island] in the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D) and the adjacent shoreline:
- (A) 22 deg. 12.619’N / 114 deg. 07.774’E
- (B) 22 deg. 12.553’N / 114 deg. 07.829’E
- (C) 22 deg. 12.733’N / 114 deg. 08.108’E
- (D) 22 deg. 12.805’N / 114 deg. 08.067’E
One flat top barge will carry out the works. One tug will provide assistance.
A working area of approximately 50 metres around the barge will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the barge.
The hours of work will be from 0700 to 1900 hours. No works will be carried out on Sundays and public holidays. The barge will stay in the works area outside the hours of work.
Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.

From 25 June 2012 and for approximately 4 months, dredging operations will be carried out [in Kau Yi Chau Dangerous Goods Anchorage] within the area bounded by straight lines joining the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum) from (A) to (D):
- (A) 22° 16.294’N / 114° 04.893’E
- (B) 22° 16.173’N / 114° 04.750’E
- (C) 22° 16.148’N / 114° 04.431’E
- (D) 22° 16.257’N / 114° 04.429’E
The works will be carried out by one grab dredger. Three split-hopper barges and two tugs will assist in the works. The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.
A working area of approximately 50 metres around the dredger will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the dredger. The works will be carried out round-the-clock.
Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations.
Vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution.

Dos Bocas Port Dues have increased with effect from 15 June 2012, as follows:
PORT DUES
FIXED TARIFF – Old tariff (until 15 June): $ 19, 145.57 – New tariff (from 16 June) : $19, 957.58 .
PLUS – VARIABLE (PER GRT) – Old tariff (until 15 June): 5.14 – New tariff (from 16 June) : 5.36 – % increase: 4.28%
The above tariff does not include 16% V.A.T.
