DATE: September 03, 2012 – COUNTRY: Germany – PORT: Kiel Canal – Possible delays due to lock chamber repair work
Delays are possible due to repairs being carried out to the New Big North Lock Chamber in Brunsbuttel. The works are expected to be completed on or about Friday, 7 September 2012.
The New Big South Lock Chamber and both small lock chambers remain in service.

DATE: September 03, 2012 -COUNTRY: Angola – PORT: Soyo – Dredging and survey works continue
From 3 to 9 September, dredging and survey operations are continuing at the port of Soyo.
The Crane Barge Johanna I will be operating in front of 1A-1W area.
SMIT barges 10 & 14 will be anchored in front of 1A-1W area.
The Shoalbuster ITC Mistral will be ploughing the turning basin and channel.
The Survey Boat Myna will be surveying the shipping channel and the Congo river.
The crew/survey vessel JON 622 will be working and assisting the Angola LNG activities in the complete working area, not affecting any shipping traffic.

DATE: September 03, 2012 – COUNTRY: Venezuela – PORT: Amuay Bay – Refinery status update – 2 September 2012
The Amuay Bay Refinery, which suffered an explosion on 25 August, is continuing the process to resume normal operations.
The refinery’s production level is currently at 170, 000 bbls per day and Plant No.04 will be restarted to reach 250, 000 bbls daily. Refinery Cardon and Bajo Grande are fully operative.
Five ships have been operating since the commencement of operations after the fire. Another five ships are performing operations at Cardon Refinery.
