Diana Containerships Inc., announces the sale of a Panamax Container vessel, the m/v Maersk Madrid
ATHENS, GREECE, April 17, 2013 – Diana Containerships Inc. (NASDAQ: DCIX), a global shipping company specializing in owning and operating containerships, today announced that it signed yesterday, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, a Memorandum of Agreement to sell to an unaffiliated third party the 1989-built vessel Maersk Madrid (to be renamed “Madrid”) for demolition, with delivery due to the buyers by mid-May 2013, for a sale price of approximately US$8.8 million before commissions.
Upon completion of the sale of m/v Maersk Madrid, Diana Containerships Inc.’s fleet will consist of 10 Panamax container vessels.
