Ardmore expects to take delivery of the third and fourth vessels, also 49, 999-dwt IMO 3 product and chemical tankers, from SPP Shipbuilding in early 2014.

The Ardmore Seavaliant, the first of Ardmore’s newbuild vessels, was delivered by SPP Shipbuilding in February 2013 and has also been chartered to Cargill for a 12-month period.

I wonder did I see this splendid ship moored across the water from me on last Sunday, when my wife, son and I were enjoying ourselves on a small beach near Ringaskkiddy, Cork, last Sunday? Having been brought up amongst the shipyards of Govan,- 1931-45, I still take a great interest in ships. Delighted to learn that is is owned by a Cork-based company, where I now live. Finally, thank you for publishing that splendid review of my autobiography,’No Love Here’ by James Brewer.

God bless,

martin Gordon.
