A great week for London comes to a close

With tremendous support from government and industry, LISW exceeded all expectations and has truly earned its place in the shipping industry’s calendar of must-attend events. The week culminated in a sell-out Conference, and a glittering Gala Dinner for over 600 guests, attended by Stephen Hammond, the UK Shipping Minister and Patrick McLoughlin, Secretary of State for Transport.

London International Shipping Week offered the opportunity for London to underline its key role in maritime services, and to continue to promote its position as the world’s main maritime capital, attracting all sectors of the international maritime community from regulators to charterers, ship owners, ship managers, lawyers, ship brokers, bankers, insurers, ship suppliers, marine surveyors, bunker suppliers as well as ports and shipping service providers to London during the week.

‘London International Shipping Week – Propelling World Trade’ was organised by Shipping Innovation – a joint venture between Elaborate Communications and Petrospot – in association with Maritime UK partners The Baltic Exchange, Maritime London and the UK Chamber of Shipping, with TheCityUK, the independent promotional body for UK financial and professional services and with the full support and involvement of the UK government.
