Municipal/communal services strike averted
The threatened strike by municipal/communal services that could have
affected Vessel Traffic Control for maritime traffic entering /leaving the
port of Oslo has been averted after the involved parties reached a
solution.

Requirement for pilot platforms & shelters
ACP Navigation Regulations, Article 64 and its Annex, state that vessels
with a length of 900 feet (274.32m) overall or more must provide suitable
platforms and shelters for assisting pilots.
Under current operating practices, vessels with a length of 700 feet
(213.36m) overall or more, and a beam 100 feet (30.48m) or more, not in
compliance with Panama Canal visibility requirements, are assigned an
additional assisting pilot for the transit.
Therefore, vessels with a length of 900 feet (274.32m) overall or more, and
vessels with a length of 700 feet (213.36m) overall or more, and a beam 100
feet (30.48m) or more not in compliance with Panama Canal visibility
requirements, must be equipped with pilot platforms and shelters.

be found in OP NOTICE TO SHIPPIN No.N-1-2014 (Revions 1) “Vessel
Requirements”, Section 3, “Requirement for Pilot Platforms and Shelters on
Certain Vessel”.
