Editorial
May we take this opportunity to wish you a very happy and prosperous 2015!The Research Centre for Energy Management (RCEM) at ESCP Europe is delighted to report that 2014 was a great success. We had our second intake of Master in Energy Management students and our fourth cohort of Executive Master in Energy Management participants. We are already accepting applications for those wishing to join either programme in 2015.

Last year saw a range of successful events, jointly organised with top international organisations:

1- The future of Greek Gas and Power Markets: Looking ahead with optimism and realism conference took place on 29th April, in Athens.
2- The 53rd EWGCFM Meeting & 2nd International Conference of the RCEM was held in Chania from 22nd- 24th May.
3- The 2014 ESCP-GAMMA JOINT SYMPOSIUM ON “ENERGY MARKETING in the 21st Century: Opportunities and Challenges” conference took place from the 15th – 18th July, in Singapore.
4- The 2030 EU Energy Security, the Role of the Eastern Mediterranean Region conference was held at the European Economic and Social Committee venue on 10th December in Brussels.
5- The Recent developments in the Greek Gas and Power Markets conference took place in Athens on 16th December. Videos from the conference are available here.

Additionally, the RCEM launched a new series of invited talks and roundtable discussions featuring top global energy experts, and participated in a series of major industry related conferences organised by our affiliates and media partners: The UK Energy Summit 2014, the 5th Mediterranean Oil and Gas Conference,  and many others.

4th February 2015, 18:30 – 21:00; ESCP Europe’s London Campus

ESCP Europe Business School  in collaboration with the Italian Chamber of Commerce invites you to an exclusive evening reception at its campus in London. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the School and the programmes it provides,  many of which offer participants the opportunity to study at its campus in Torino.

Invited talk on “Long Term Security of Supply: The UK example”.

The event will take place at ESCP Europe’s London Campus at 4:00 pm on 20th February, 2015.

Participants will have the opportunity to assess the long term security of supply in the UK power sector, looking at the challenges presented and the opportunities available therein.

Invited talk on “EMA Overview”.

The event took place at ESCP Europe’s London Campus at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, 28th January, 2015.

Master in Energy Management (MEM) participants had the opportunity to meet distinguished speaker Lord Rupert Redesdale, CEO of EMA who explored the UK power sector amd other international markets. Invited guest also provided an overview of EMA’s activities.

The event was followed by a cocktail reception.

Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Antonis Samaras, was the keynote speaker at the Closing Conference Dinner, while the Deputy Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, Mr. Makis Papageorgiou, gave the Opening Speech.

The conference titled ‘Recent developments in the Greek Gas and Power Markets’ took place on 16 December, 2014 at theIntercontinental Hotel (89-93 Syngrou Avenue, Athens, Greece) and was followed by an exclusive dinner at the same venue.
