The reputational impact to the spiller is significantly increased and the involvement of governmental and non-governmental agencies multiplies. This session reviews developments in best practice for shoreline clean-up.

Review of Joint Industry Projects

Chair: Jeff Patry, Manager – Center for Emergency Preparedness and Response, ChevronThe Macondo incident initiated or re-invigorated a number of joint industry projects where oil companies under the auspices of OGP, IPIECA and API have pooled their resources to address key issues in oil spill preparedness and response. This workshop reviews deliverables from these projects and discusses their future direction.

IMO-IPIECA Global Initiative

Chair: Thomas Coolbaugh, Distinguished Scientific Associate, ExxonMobilThe Global Initiative is an excellent example of industry (via IPIECA) and governments (via IMO) working constructively together to improve international oil spill preparedness. Taking place on Monday 23 March, the day before Interspill 2015 opens its doors, Educational Short Courses provide a perfect overview for those new to the industry. Each course will cost 120 Euros, there are two streams of courses taking place – 12:00-15:00 and 15:30-18:30.
