ABP Marine Environmental Research Ltd (ABPmer), a leading marine consultancy, has been appointed by Wightlink Ferries to provide specialist environmental advice for their proposed upgrade of the Fishbourne – Portsmouth Gunwharf ferry service.
Wightlink wish to improve their service from Portsmouth to the Isle of Wight by undertaking terminal improvements works and introducing a new purpose-built environmentally friendly ferry, capable of carrying over 1000 passengers at a time.
ABPmer will provide advice to Wightlink regarding the environmental implications of the proposed service upgrade, and will be supporting their planning application by preparing the marine chapters for the impact assessments and consenting documents.

We have undertaken numerous studies in the Solent and have previously helped Wightlink with the upgrade to their Lymington – Yarmouth route.
