Older VLCC’s Holding their ValueThe biggest movement in the tanker market has been seen in the older VLCC tonnage. Following the en bloc deal of four 307, 000 DWT ‘99/’00 blt Samsung VLCCs to Ridgebury there has been an increase in values for older tonnage.In the bulker market we have seen an increase in values for modern supramax tonnage following the resale of the two Norden 60, 400 DWT ’15 blt Oshima for usd 25 million. Modern handy tonnage has also seen an increase this week following the resale to Wisdom of the 37, 700 DWT ’15 blt Shimanami for usd 21 million.Modern feedermax values have fallen slightly in the container market, following the sale of the Ability 1, 060 TEU ’06 blt Hakata Zosen for usd 8 million. In the larger tonnage values remained firm following the en bloc sale of the James River Bridge and Lions Gate Bridge 5, 608 TEU ’01 blt Hyundai HI for usd 19 million each.
