GAC 01072014Pilotage rates increase

A 2½% increase in pilotage rates for the port of Corpus Christi will come into effect from 1 August 2015.

This increase is the final tier of a 3-year rate increase granted by the Pilot Board at a Public Hearing on 29 July 2013. The increases were as follows:

2½% – effective 1 August 2013

2½% – effective 1 August 2014

2½% – effective 1 August 2015

Payment of port charges in local currency

The payment of port charges at P.T. Pelabuhan Tia Bersaudara, Lubuk Gaung port, may be made in accordance with the value converted into Rupiah (IDR) using the Bank of Indonesia exchange rate published one day before the invoice/bill of services.

The exchange rate listed in the invoice is only valid for 14 days. For payments made on the 15th day after the issue of the invoice, the exchange rate must be updated.

This provision is applicable pending an official response from the Bank of Indonesia.

Changes to bunker excise
July 30, 2015, Australia, all ports

The Australian Government has announced that the Fuel Tax will rise from the present 38.900 cents per litre to 39.200 cpl with effect from 1 August 2015.

In relation to Coastal Shipping, the rate payable for Bunker Excise on coastal bunkers consumed will become 39.200 cpl, with the Excise Rebate remaining at 100% – due to the removal of the Carbon Tax from 1 July 2014.

Indexation of fuel duty has returned to a biannual CPI Indexation from 1 February and again from 1 August each year. The next expected change would be from 1 February 2016.

Traffic closure for bridge works

The Bosphorus will be closed to traffic on Friday (1 August) between 06:00 and 10:30 hours local time due to works on the 3. bridge (Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge).
