Now what about this unique book appropriately presented earlier tonight in London’s Hellenic Centre?
A full house at the Friends Room in London’s Hellenic Centre, specially “decorated” following the previous night’s private view of “Deities, Beast and Beauty” exhibition, heard and carefully listened to Dr. Kiki Sonidou’s presentation of Nicole-Anne Maniati’s new book the “Fallen Angel”. Interestingly the presenter, a medical doctor herself, used the appropriate phrases for this book and its findings.
A powerful, sensitive revolutionary novel, dealing with self-harm and the cruelty or indifference that drives children to it.
Ariadne Mpoulouzou, a very eloquent young philologist, read excerpts from the book , raising the interest of the audience. The author herself made some unique points /confessions of what triggered her interest in writing this particular book.
Amongst the many in the audience we spotted the Cyprus High Commissioner Euripedes Euriviades, the president of the Lykeion ton Hellinidon Pyghi Skinitis and her husband Nicholas, the president of the Peloponnesian Society Dr. Markou, the well known conductor and musician from the Oxford Philomusica Marios Papadopoulos and his wife, Captain Michael Kounoupas, Dr. Evi Kalodiki and many others who despite the traffic jams made it even at the last moment! A great media live coverage for televison by Demi Nikitakis and many other photojournalists!
A nice drinks and dips reception followed the presentation with many staying until late to buy also the book and exhange views with the author. Good also to catch-up after the summer break!
We hope soon to see the book translated into English, after all, many from the audience urged the author to do so. The book is published by one of Greece’s well-known publishers Phichogios Publications S.A.
