Swimming Race off Tsim Sha Tsui

A swimming race in the water area about 200 metres off Tsim Sha Tsui East will take place from 0635 hours to 1000 hours on 8 November 2015 (Sunday).  About 400 swimmers, under the escort of guard boats, are expected to participate in the race.Masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of all vessels navigating in the vicinity should proceed with caution and give a wide berth to the swimmers.  Compliance with the provisions of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea 1972 is mandatory.(For information about operations in Hong Kong contact GAC Hong Kong at shipping.hongkong@gac.com)Source: Government of Hong Kong SAR Marine Department Notice No.149 of 2015

Dredging to start at turning basin and bunker anchorage

The A-4 turning basin and bunker anchorage at Lake Charles will be dredged over the next month.Equipment is being set up today (30 October) and dredging will commence when the dike construction is completed, estimated to be within the next five days.A-4 may be available for bunkering before actual dredging starts, after which alternate bunker locations must be used (A-2 or a lay berth).(For information about operations in the USA contact GAC USA at usa@gac.com)
